NEW CHURCH CALLING...

Well here you go, the day my children were not prepared for and the day they thought would never come. Their mom got put into the YW Presidency... (Again, 1st counselor this time) The last time I served in the Young Womens, I was pregnant and having the boys, So the girls were too young to remember any of it. I have to say the joke at our house was the look on the girls faces when they said my name in church "PRICELESS" I just giggled inside and looked over at their mouths hanging open to the floor and the disgust in their eyes knowing that they couldn't get rid of me even on Sunday, it was quite entertaining. Needless to say they have had a week to handle the news, and our first youth activity together this past Wednesday and I think they handled it very well and they even lived through it. Truthfully, I am so excited to be back in the Young Womens program in our church. I love those girls and being around all of them most of their or if not all of their lives, I feel already connected to them. Mind you, the 1st thing Alissa reminded me of is that I would have to go to Girl's Camp.....Camping and Alice are not usually used in the same sentence. Then Zoey immediately remembered that I would be accompanying them to Youth Conference and that put a damper on her spirits, I quickly reminded them, that I would not be there just to hover over them, we do have 35-40 girls in our ward. I am really excited for the women that I get the opportunity to work with, They are amazing and I know that they will be such a good example and teachers to me -
This is just another chapter in our lives and in the lives of 3 teenage girls and 2 little guys!

More Baseball News...

So, We had a Memorial Weekend Baseball Tournament in the Utah County or sort-of this weekend. (sorry no pic.'s, I get too involved in the games to take pictures) Stone played with the Riverton Rats 11 and under team. The 1st Day we played in Salem, Utah (45 minutes south) 2 games, 1st game we got beat bad, 2nd Game we played neck and neck but lost by 2, So the 1st day pretty much took us out of contention to play on Monday. However, Today we played in Highland, Utah, much closer and had 2 great games. It's amazing what a new day can bring. Stone was able to show a lot of versatility these last 2 days, playing left field, Center Field, Pitcher, catcher, Short-stop (favorite), and 3rd base. With a few amazing plays we won today, both games. The thing I think Chris and I are most proud of with Stone is he is able to play with all sorts of boys and on different team as and gets along with everyone. He enjoys sports so much, he's is just happy to play everyday. We think he is one terrific little ball player, but we are a little biased, SHHHH! Don't Tell....... Well needless to say We have no games on Monday, so a Day off!!!!!!! Then begins the next week in Stones' life -

OHMS Dance Co Try-outs!

Well, Another Dancer, Another Try-outs! Jocelyn tried out this last week for the 9th Grade Dance Company at the local middle school (7th-9th grade) She will no longer be attending the Charter School that the boys attend and decided to try out for the Dance company and go to the public school. We are really proud of her, not being in the neighborhood school for 4 years, she fit right in and worked it out at Try-outs and made the team! She is quite the performer. She amazes us every day with her ability to play piano, act, sing and dance (she also loves to play sports but I am not sure she would admit that to many). She finds out on Tuesday if she makes Dance Company officer, Cross your fingers!!!

Rhythm Nation - Nationals Dance 2009

Zoey and Jocey were in Nationals this weekend and this is one of the dances that were amazing. They are doing a sort of HipHop/ Military Dance. They received the 3rd highest score in competition, over ALL. These girls are so talented and fun to watch! Ok, This better work It has taken an hour to upload, I hope you all can see this.....

Baseball News

Stone had 5 games in 48 hours and what a bunch of games they were. Stone plays with 2 leagues and on the weekend he played Thursday, Friday Night, with 2 wins and Saturday he played 2 games with 2 more wins to make it into a Triple Crown State Tournament Championship Game. So during National Dance Competition, I was able to sneak away for 2 1/2 hours to watch the Championship game. However, I am pretty sure that half of the boys on the "Sandlot" team are bigger than some men I know. Being that Stone is 11 1/2 and weighs about 68 lbs, some of his opponents were probably 180 lbs and 5' 8" and had facial hair. I am pretty sure that some of those players turned in a Birth Certificate made with Green Crayon, saying "I am 12" ("Bench warmers" movie) They lost in the last game 9 - 1, with Stone being the only run to score. He batted 6 for 7 on the Saturday Games and made some amazing catches left field. What a weekend????

State Golf Championship 2009

Alissa participated in her first High School State Tournament on Thursday May 14, 2009 at Glen Eagle Golf Course in Syracuse Utah. Mind you - I have never watched a Golf Tournament, kind of nerve racking but interesting to say the least. My sister and her family live on this particular Golf Course, so my brother-in-law ans niece were able to ride along and watch in their Golf Cart, I think it is just an excuse for Rick to drive a little cart around on the grass.....Alissa did not have her best day on the course, but her attitude was great, that she felt awesome to have made it this far, we will be working harder for next year - 2 more years to get to that PAR Golf. We know she can do it!

2009 National Dance Competition 5/16/09

This is the 3 Stooges or the 3 BFF's - Natalie, Zoey & Sam dancing together since they were about 8 years old. this is their last Competition of the 2009 Season, Nationals - At Skyline High School
OK! SHE DID IT!!!! She made The Dance Crew! Back in April we went to St George and Zoey competed to be a finalist in the Champion Productions Dance Crew Video, at at Nationals this weekend, she was 1 of 10 chosen to be filmed for the Champion Productions Web-site. She is crazy goof at her Hip-Hop skills - she must get it from her DAD? (HaHaHa)

Oquirrh Hills Middle School had their annual Dance Showcase Called "If you Ever Saw Her". Zoey is one of 2 Dance Captains on the 9th grade Dance Company, she only eats, sleeps and breathes Dance... There were some amazing dances along with a fun performance of 4 girls and their brothers, so needless to say Zoey recruited Hunter. It is really fun and funny at the same time, but it sure is cute. Zoey and Hunter are the ones in the Orange and Black! By the way Zoey was asked by her Dance teacher if she would be willing to come back over the next few years and help her Choreograph dances for the upcoming Dance Teams. She is a star in the making...
