So when you think life is raining down on you a bit, it tends to Flood... We have seen our fair share of thunderstorms these last weeks and from the mouths of babes we received the ultimate piece of advice: (Let me set up our recent family events)
Grandpa Row came to visit for a couple days, Alissa has been struggling with her golf game, Jocelyn got cut from Cheer try-outs (2nd time in as many weeks) Pretty devastating to both her and me, Stone got benched in one of his baseball games for throwing a crying fit after their team lost the 1st game of a double header ( a life lesson he will never forget) Hunter had to go to Hip hop even though he was tired, Alissa had craziness all around her at work, Mom raced as fast as she could from one end of the valley to another to try and support all her children in there endeavors, while Chris was working, and made it to Stone's 2nd baseball game to find out he was benched and she got to watch the rest of the team play and win. Zoey has been in H_ _ _ weeks with Riverton Dance Company finishing up the season with the big year end Concert and creating dances for an Alumni Dance for the Middle School, Teaching a boys hip hop class where only 2 or 3 boys show up each week, and smack dab in the middle of competition season. The house has not been cleaned, The yard has not been mowed, The weeds are beginning to creep up all over the flower beds, laundry is all over the house & according to Hunter there is nothing good to eat in this house( I could go on for 2 pages) ...Sound familiar to any of you?
So, when Chris made a comment to Zoey about him making a mistake in the Father/Daughter Dance in the High School Dance Concert, wanting to know what he had forgotten the wisdom came without pause:
"Dad it doesn't matter, it is over and we move on"
This is now the motto in the Gibbons Household, it doesn't matter the mistake we make, or how we have been wronged, it happened, it's over, we learn from it, and Move On!
(Let's see how long this will last)
